Foodpoint was founded in 2016 by Stefano with a clear aim: to give London kitchens fresher produce and a more reliable service than the traditional wholesale model. In the early days there was no warehouse, no systems, and no fleet, just one van loaded at New Covent Garden Market and delivered across the city to restaurants, schools, hotels, and care homes.
Foodpoint grew by listening closely to chefs and operators, understanding menus, and getting the basics right every time: quality, consistency, and service you can depend on.
It started with one van, loading wherever there was space at the market and delivering to clients who took a chance on us, many of them still with us today. The vision was simple: to build a better alternative to the old model of a wholesale fruit and veg supplier, with clearer communication, higher standards, and service kitchens could rely on. Early mornings and personal service built the foundation, and it is the same trust we carry into every delivery now.

Growing demand led to our first warehouse in Croydon, giving us the space to expand our wholesale supply while still hand selecting produce daily. With a base to store key lines and dispatch efficiently, our fleet and client base grew quickly and we broadened the range across fruit, vegetables, and more.
It also marked a shift in how we sourced: building closer relationships with growers and producers, improving consistency, and strengthening the service kitchens relied on.
We moved into New Covent Garden Market, the centre of London's fresh produce trade. Being closer to the source strengthened our buying, improved speed, and helped us support chefs with better ingredients day to day.
It also brought new clients and more volume, and it set us up for the biggest step yet.

We launched Grownet, our custom B2B platform, giving chefs a faster way to order, track deliveries, and manage invoices in one place. It was our biggest step yet, and the shift we had always wanted: moving beyond the old wholesale model and making fresh produce supply simpler, clearer, and more reliable.
